Far Hills, N.J. – At the close of each year, the United States Golf Association recognizes USGA champions, volunteers, staff members and other friends and authorities of the game who passed away during the previous 12 months. Below is a list of some of those we lost in 2008.
Orville Moody, the 1969 U.S. Open champion and 1989 U.S. Senior Open champion, died of multiple myeloma, a form of cancer, Aug. 8 in Allen, Texas, at 74. He was the last player to win the U.S. Open after going through local and sectional qualifying. More
